Scheduling God First: The Stewardship of Time

We live in an incredibly fast-paced culture. We schedule soccer practices, business meetings, school events, and social media blocks. Yet, when it comes to our relationship with God, we often offer Him our 'leftover' time—whatever minutes happen to remain at the very end of a chaotic day. Authentic stewardship demands that we give God our first and best fruits, and that includes our calendar. If God is truly the center of our lives, our weekly schedule must reflect that reality. This week, we invite you to evaluate your household time management. Are we making time for daily personal prayer, family Scripture reading, and regular Confession? Let us stop giving God our leftover scraps of time and begin scheduling Him first.

Talents and Skills: Building the Local Church

When we hear the word 'stewardship,' our minds almost instantly jump to financial collection baskets. But God’s economy is vastly richer than currency. Our parish cannot survive on financial gifts alone; we require the dynamic investment of your human skills, talents, and professional expertise. Whether you are an accountant, an educator, a tradesperson, an artist, a student, or a retiree with the gift of a listening ear, your specific abilities were given to you to build up the Body of Christ. When a parish ministry lacks volunteers, the whole body suffers. Look closely at our local parish infrastructure this week. Where is God calling you to step out of the pews and offer your hands to serve your fellow parishioners?
