Good Shepherd Sunday
For many years, our archdiocese has prayed for vocations to the priesthood. We give thanks that God has answered those prayers.
Just a few years ago, we had no seminarians in formation. Today, six men are preparing for the priesthood, and next year, we expect up to twelve. These vocations are a gift from God and a great sign of hope for our Church.
Each of these men has answered the call of the Good Shepherd with courage and faith. Now we are invited to respond, to walk with them and support their formation, especially their studies at the seminary, which costs around $65,000 per seminarian, per year.
The Good shepherd Sunday special collection will support the Vocations Appeal. Our goal this year is to raise $500,000 to ensure that every seminarian receives the education and formation needed to serve God’s people well and lead a Church that goes out, goes deep, and goes together.
God Has called.
They have answered.
Now the call comes to us.
Thank you for your generosity and for your prayers for our future priests.

Dedication of the Church
On May 3rd, 1987, Our Lady of Mount Carmel was dedicated.
In catholic usage, the dedication of a church is the solemn liturgical act by which the Church sets a building apart as a holy space for divine worship, asking God’s favor on it and expressing the Church’s decision to worship there.
Some of the Church’s archives will be available to see in the Parish Hall after the 10 am Mass.
