The Church has a very high bar when it comes to virtue. In fact, to be a man of virtue, you have to be a man of excellence.
Bobby Angel extends this challenge to all men this week. Make the commitment to reach for excellence, and don't settle for anything less.
Quoting C.S. Lewis, he states, “Something in the human heart breaks at the thought of mediocrity.”
Ask yourself, "Am I trying to bring the bar down or am I raising myself up?" While the Church is tough on virtue, it is also big on mercy.
Find a group that is striving toward virtue together and keep each other accountable. When you fail, go to confession. And always keep Christ at the center.
